Artist Biography
Sasha Korb (b. 1995, Boulder) is a Christian prophetic painter located in Houston, TX. Portraying her dreams, visions, and spiritual experiences through vibrant folk art compositions, Korb weaves medical and maternal motifs into many of her pieces. Coming after a childhood and young adulthood of supernatural encounters, Korb firmly placed her faith in Christ following a dream of the crucifixion and the human need for a "divine blood transfusion" she had in 2017. Korb was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in 2023, an agressive blood cancer, and underwent three years of life saving treatment in the Texas Medical Center. In 2022, Korb had a series of mystical experiences that preceded the discovery of her condition, revealing her illness and subsequent healing. Evident themes in Korb's work include the divine interplay and transfer between Christ's blood and her own, references to biblical themes of atonement, suffering, healing, and sacrifice, patterns of death and rebirth, as well as domestic abuse, spiritual warfare, salvation, and motherhood. A language of symbols in many of Korb's paintings draw upon Mexican, American Southwestern, and Middle Eastern traditions. Korb earned her BFA in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 2018.
